Animal Images can provide breeders a limited scan to check for specific criteria such as:pregnancy and PKD.
Pregnancy ultrasounds can look for heartbeats, assess/estimate* litter size and confirm pregnancy. The ideal time to schedule a pregnancy exam is between 26 & 28 days after the last breeding. A gestational sac is visible usually after 18 days and heartbeat seen at around 21 days.
Because these are limited scans, the ovaries or other organs are not examined. If you feel the need for this, contact your vet to have an abdominal ultrasound scheduled.
*Estimating litter size can be difficult with ultrasound, especially with large litters.
